- 1-3/4 cup old fashioned oats
- 3 cups fresh apples diced
- 1 qt water
- 1 Tbsp ground cinnamon
- 3/4 tsp ground ginger
- 3 Tbsp pure maple syrup
- 1/4 tsp kosher salt
- 1 Tbsp vanilla extract
- 6 Tbsp walnuts halves & pieces, chopped & toasted

- Place all ingredients (except the walnuts) into a pot and bring to a boil. Simmer for 5 minutes. Serve with toasted walnuts.
