Today marks the start of National Nutrition Month®, an annual celebration by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. This year, we focus on celebrating globally inspired plant forward eating, the connection between nutrition and mental well-being and the people who drive our food and nutrition priorities.
Plant Forward
Consistent among healthy eating patterns across the world is the importance of fruits, vegetables and other plant foods. They are packed with health promoting nutrients, bring vibrant visual appeal to our meals and are often the source of the unique flavor profiles associated with traditional cuisines. We believe that fruits and vegetables should be celebrated and not limited to side dishes or salads. This month you will see delicious plant forward recipes and dishes shared here and in our cafes, dining halls and market places.

Nutrition and Mental Well-Being
We have all experienced a time when excitement or stress has influenced how and what we eat. Emerging evidence suggests that what we eat can also influence our mental well-being. From brain health as we grow or age to dealing with difficult times, eating well can support our mental and physical well-being. Join our experts on March 16th at 1pm eastern for a webinar to learn more.

Our People
Over 2,200 Registered Dietitians (RDNs) are part of the Compass Group team. As food and nutrition experts, RDNs are uniquely positioned to champion efforts that support well-being for people and planet in every part of our business. Our RDNs:
- Collaborate with chefs, clients, guest, patients and students to understand and meet varying needs;
- Educate with food and nutrition information that is relevant, evidence based and approachable;
- Innovate to bring recipe and menu development that reflects our dynamic populations; and
- Inspire by sharing a passion for plant forward, globally inspired foods.
Throughout March, and especially on March 9th – RDN Day – we will celebrate the contributions of our RDNs.
